This a cleverly written engaging article with which any thoughtful developer or user of dashboards can relate. Well done in getting the conversation started- and increasingly going- about what is it that we need when we display numbers for decision making. Personally I am increasingly developing action dashboards, which show the next required actions instead of representing the past. An underlying failed assumption is that everybody can interpret dashboards to guide action, which could not be further from the truth.
